Customer Reviews

Exactly what I orderedArrived on time and as expected. I purchased these vitamins as I am vegan and it was hard to find prenatal vitamins that fit my budget and were quality product. I used to take Rainbow Light which are much bigger in size but after finding out that they are no longer vegan I switched to DEVA brand. I HATE the flavor of these and the smell is horrible. It is so hard to swallow these and keep them down. Even when I drink chocolate almond milk with them or juice I still taste it during and after taking it. I don't recommend buying this if your morning sickness is easily triggered. I didn't begin to use them until my third trimester and I don't think I would have been able to stomach them in my first trimester. 3Typical horse pillI liked that these were vegan. That's about it. They are a horse pill. Sure, they have a smooth coating, but they are still a large vitamin. They also have that distinct "vitamin" taste and smell. I have nausea and vomiting and these aggrevate it. I personally do not like these and can not take these. If you have no issue taking large pills and don't mind the vitamin taste and smell they'd probably work for you 2Great Prenatal Vegan Multivitamin, Might Be A Little Hard To Swallow Without Plenty of WaterI bought these vitamins due to me starting to transition over to a vegan lifestyle of consuming only plant-based foods. After researching, I decided on these because it also had DHA in it (which is considered by many to be essential during childbearing age). What's great about these prenatal vitamins: they only have to be taken once a day (and highly recommended to be taken with food). What's not so great: they are kind of big to swallow and I have had to make sure I drink plenty of water with it in order to go down properly. Other than that, I am just glad I finally found a good vegan prenatal vitamin! 4Nausea and reactionI didn't feel so hot while taking these vitamins - switched brands and the nausea and dizziness improved dramatically. I'm sensitive to soy and corn, so I'm thinking that the use one or both as part of the "vegetable" sources listed in the ingredients. I tried to confirm by calling the company directly but they never answered. Left a message and no call back. Not the greatest customer service, unfortunately.Three stars because while these didn't work for me, the problems aren't necessarily something that would be universal. 3Great Vitamin with Strange "Outcome"I really enjoy these vitamins. They don't make me ill and nauseous like some others. And that's pretty important when you're pregnant and already feeling under the weather. Word of warning though: They will make your pee bright yellow. Sometimes no matter how much you drink water. You'll have to explain it to anyone who wants a urine sample through your entire pregnancy that you're not dehydrated. It might take some convincing. 5Smelly VitaminsI purchased my first bottle of DEVA Prenatal vitamins a few months ago and really liked them! Just recently I ordered a second bottle through Amazon and I am less than impressed. The thing I noticed right away was the strong iron or vitamin smell that came from the pill as well as the unpleasant taste (this was nothing like the first bottle I had purchased and taken for almost 3 months). The bottle looks exactly the same but the pills inside do not. After my first bottle of vitamins I would have given 5 stars, but after my 2nd bottle I would say 4 stars. My main reason for purchasing these specific vitamins is because they do not contain niacin, which I am allergic to. It is very difficult to find prenatal vitamins without Niacin. I hope this review helps you make the best decision for you. 4No Foul Smell or Nasty TasteI've been vegan for several months now and I'm nursing my daughter. My doctor recommended that I continue to take prenatals while I'm nursing. I've been looking for prenatal that are vegan, since most brands that I've come across are not. I heard about this brand after reading some reviews online and these sounded good to try. I think the this was a good buy. These prenatal are not too big and they don't have a horrible smell or taste. This is good since so many vitamins both smell and taste awful. These are coated and not and at all. I don't know how well they work as opposed to other vegan vitamins, but I do know that they do not upset my stomach and I don't get a nasty aftertaste throughout the day. These are affordable and I like knowing that I can get some extra nutrients without them being animal based. 5WARNING: MOLDY SPOILED CONTAMINATED!!!Please be careful and inspect these supplements before ingesting. In fact continue to inspect them throughout the course of taking them. Unfortunately I ended up ingesting these moldy capsules and became sick. These began to mold way before their best by date of 01/20. This is very dangerous for any body especially pregnant women and the fetus.I have taken these before and had no problems however it seems that quality control is poor. Also I had the same problem with NOW NAC 600 mg except I took those a little longer before I noticed the fungus growing in them https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013OUQ3S. Seems like quality is going all the way down for these supplements. I don't know if these vitamins & supplements are fake or fake dates are being applied to them or just general incompetent with quality control. Please report to the health department. I am very disappointed and disgusted. I am taking other supplements stored in the same place with no such problems.I am well versed on how humidity works and storing supplements. These were stored away from humidity, in a dry location (not bathroom or kitchen ) with other supplements that maintain their integrity. And as I mentioned earlier I have purchased these before with no problem and stored them in the same location. This is the first time in my life I received bad batches of supplements. 1Like it, with some worriesI love this vitamin. I take it and I am not pregnant, but a teacher recommended it for people planning to. Make sure to keep them in the container and do not expose them to air too long because they get old quickly if you do. Look at the pill before taking because dark spots will start to form on them if they are old. The only thing that I want to warn people about is that there are only 550mcg of folic acid in this and according to my textbook you need the following:"When a woman is trying to get pregnant and for the first 3 months of pregnancy, she should take 1,200 mcg daily. For the remainder of the pregnancy, she should take 600 mcg, and during breast-feeding, 500 mcg each day" (Centers for Disease Control, 2009b).So you might not be getting enough folic acid. 4Mold in the pillsI would have given a zero if possible! I saw mold in the pills a few days after I opened the container. I thought that was a one-time thing, so I reordered, and the same thing happened! 1
