I believe it worksThis was recommended by a trusted acquaintance who said it bolstered her immune system. She works in Healthcare with the elderly and having worked in healthcare myself, I believe her assessment of the reduced episodes of feeling lethargic/reduced energy. At times (when you work around illness, since you develop a certain immunity) the only symptoms that let you know that you have been exposed to a flu or cold is the feeling of being run-down. I share this as something that became apparent to me working many, many years in healthcare and around the ill. 5Pretty Awesome StuffI waited for over a month before posting my review of Epicor. I wanted to see if it works. As an almost 60 year old....I have not been SICK since I started taking it. I take one a day before bed. I think this stuff may be worth the money. I will purchase it again. 5The only supplement that works for the common cold "FAST"I have never written a product review ever, have not been offered free products and am not an employee or friend of the makers of Epicor. My sole reason for writing this review is to share with you my personal experience. Last Saturday I came down with a very severe case of a viral cold and my nose would not stop dripping no matter what I did. I spent Saturday and Sunday in bed, used antihistamines, zinc lozenges hoping I would get better but without success. I wasn't sure how I was going to work on Monday so Sunday evening at 8:30 pm I looked up in my supplement cabinet and found a bottle of Epicor that I had purchased in 2015 and took one with my dinner. 2 hrs. later my nose stopped dripping and I felt better, just like it says on the bottle. Never before I have taken a supplement and found it to work like that. Monday morning when I got up I still had some nose drip but not like the days before. I took one more Epicor with breakfast and went to work. By Monday afternoon I felt better still and at night took one more with dinner. Tuesday morning my nose was dry as if nothing happened unlike the past where the cold aftermath would linger for a week with headaches, sinus pressure and sore throats. I have used many different supplements for various conditions in the past 20 years. No other supplement even comes close to fulfilling its claim like Epicor does. I have now decided to keep taking one a day to build my immunity so I don't have to suffer like this in the future. 5Stopped working for me!I have taken EpiCor for 15 years and never had a cold or flu during that time. I started taking this version 2 years ago and this must not be that good or they changed the process or something changed in the strength. I took a different brand before this one and it worked. This year I had a sore throat for a week which turned into a cold for another week. Now I have the Flu which is very disappointing. I am going back to the one I purchased before. I will throw this in the trash as soon as a get my order. 3No More 6 Week Sore Throats & Colds!I've been taking Epicor for gosh - probably 10+ years. The main thing it does for me is, you know those 8 week colds, about 3 times a year, that are minor, but then you either have a LONG lingering sore throat or annoying cough? .... well, I don't get colds or sick like that anymore. Worst case, maybe one 2 day cold in the fall, and one in the spring. I take 1 Epicor in the morning day in / day out; maybe 2 if I feel I'm tired or a cold is coming on. I just HATED to get sick so much, and I do NOT get sick like that anymore. BTW, I noticed another woman's comment, so I'll add mine: If I was supposed to get hot flashes, well, I did not get any, so maybe it's attributable to Epicor. 5An EpiCor a day keeps the doctor awayI admit I was initially skeptical about EpiCor, probably because most supplements are bunk. But my immune system is delicate, and living in a cold climate means I spend months of each year teetering on the precipice of illness. After being sick from June until September of 2014, I stumbled across EpiCor and decided to try it out. It not only helped me recover from that extended ailment, but has kept me mostly healthy since then. I take one capsule each morning, combining it with 2000 IU of Vitamin D3 during the grey winter months. If I feel myself coming down with something, I up the dosage to one capsule in the morning and one at night until I feel better, which is usually a matter of days. I've found that EpiCor drastically shortens symptoms and prevents things from becoming full-blown colds and flus. Nearly two years in, I feel confident saying this stuff really works. On the off chance it's a placebo, it's the most reliable placebo I've found. :) 5There is conflicting evidence about EpicorI really should have researched this product before buying it. After receiving it, I found out more information from a well known, valid and respected website (I didn't reveal which one and what I say isn't exactly quoted so I didn't end up getting blocked by Amazon). It said that Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (this is the scientific name for Epicor) is actually brewer's yeast, which is a by-product of beer.You SHOULD NOT take this if you have a weakened immune system because it may increase the risk of blood infections. These people are ones with HIV/AIDS and who are taking medications to suppress their immune system (especially to prevent rejection of organ transplant). *To be safe, speak with your doctor before taking it. ***This information completely conflicts with what Epicor claims to use it for***It is probable that it may help PMS. There is insufficient evident though that it might help hay fever and colitis.It will react with medications that treat fungal infections (like Diflucan), because Saccharomyces Cerevisiae is a fungus. Also do not take it if you have diabetes (it can lower blood sugar), high cholesterol, the flu and IBS.They suggest to take it for only 12 weeks because they didn't test it for any time beyond that.Reasons for not taking it are if you have a yeast allergy, Chron's disease, low blood sugar or diabetes.I have decided to not take the Epicor I purchased. One of our children was constantly ill from either gut-disturbances or colds/ flu, UNTIL we began regular, daily consumption of EPICOR. Now she is rarely ill.
