Great flavorI ordered this sample package and I love the tea! I havent found a good black tea since teavana went out of business. I have had 2 of the packages so far and they are both bold in flavor and not bitter. I make at least one pot a day. So happy to have found these!5VERY nice collection of TEN different black tea variantsReally pleased with the variety in this. It is a great way to sample a number of black teas to see if you have a favorite. BTW, there are teN (10) DIFFERENT teas in this collection despite some confusion that might be caused by some parts of their VERY extensive description. After buying it, based upon what I read, I was not sure if I had bought ten different teas or two packages each of five different teas. As previously stated, it is the former, 10 different.5Great Way to Try New FlavorsI purchased this sampler along with an infusing mug for my son, who recently stopped drinking coffee. The teas were eye-opening for all of us (typical herbal, Lipton and Constant Comment drinkers). The fragrances are so variable and the range of flavors is amazing. With each new tea he tried over the winter break he spent with us, my son would wander around the house urging the rest of the family to smell and then take a sip. I highly recommend the Black Teas Loose Leaf Sampler for someone who's decided they'd like to expand their tea horizons a bit.5Makes me look forward to tea timeI ordered this tea sampler after receiving Vahdam Tea's organic Assam CTC tea. What a rich, clear and robust tea!I prefer CTC tea for my everyday tea drinking, and had used Lipton yellow label by default as my go-to tea for a long time, but I wanted to find an alternative, organic tea, one that would benefit the producers as well as myself. And there is Vahdam Tea, providing exactly what I was looking for, with much more than a great CTC tea for daily consumption.I cannot yet post a review for every tea flavor, since there are 10 of them. It will take me awhile to sample them all. The first tea I tried from the sampler, the Assam Daily tea, is so excellent that I'm going to drink all of that before I try another one.I'm not a big sweet eater, but I do love sweet tea in the Indian style, and for my purposes this is the best tea ever. Thank you, internet, Amazon and Vahdam, for making this tea available to me in the wilds of Mississippi, a miracle if I ever saw one.5Good exterior packaging, ultimately teas are bland, I can not taste quality or value - :(This morning trying Darjeeling Daily Summer Black Tea, Made a teaspoon or more ratio to a small chinese tea cup. Again it's really bland and it's turning bitter pretty fast. This sampler set is turning out to be very dissappointing. I didn't even finish drking the Darjeeling Daily Summer Black Tea, I tossed half of it down the sink.Am I doing something wrong here??Just made the Smoky Assam brewed about 4.5 mins. Smells like a fireplace :) Again tastes very mild.Trying the DarJeeling Premium Spring Black Tea FTGFOP1: Smells nice, flavor is a little bland. Steeped at 200F 4 mins. made a smaller cup so it would be concentrated. Maybe I just don't like delicate flavors. Maybe I'm being too picky. It's nice it's just not flavorful. I will try again on a different day. There weere a couple of stem/twigs in the leaf mix for the people who look for that kind of thing.Tasting update: This morning I am tasting the tea branded as Himalayan Breakfast Black SFTGFOP1. Brewed at 200F 4 mins. It smells a little bland, sour and metallic in my opinion. I'm a little disappointed because it's bland in my opinion. I'm drinking it plain with nothing added no sugar, no milk. The taste seems pretty smooth. Slight bitter after taste. I brewed about a teaspoon in a half mug of coffee. Maybe I will try tasting it again another day. I was so excited to get these teas, they are hyped up a bit, have nice packaging however so far it's not something I would purchase again. I might even go out and purchase some Mighty Leaf brand teabags for the week. I'm not convinced that the snobbery about whole leaf tea is legit. This isn't better than the teabag brands so far. I've still got 8 more to taste though.past - Just arrived, haven't tasted it yet. There is a date stamp on the bottom of the large bag that says month of packaging is November 2018, so indicates recent. I decided to check the weight of my inexpensive grocery store box of tea bags it's 40 grams and 20 tea bags. So this means 2 grams per tea bag, I make one cup with one tea bag. The Vahdam tea that arrived is a lot of little baggies, actually I'm noticing there were only 9 tea samples. The Vahdam teas are 2 grams per sample so technically it's like 9 teabags worth. It looks like it will make at least 18 mugs worth, we shall see. The Vahdam teas do appear to take up more volume. It's defintely a fun little package. Looks like this bag didn't have the "Daily Assam". The label on the botton also lists the following ingredients for the rose tea: Almonds, Cardamom, Pistachio. The whole bag smells like cardamom actually.1/2019I've moved on to searching for other tea sellers. Having the Classic English Breakfast this morning "FTGFOP1". It doesn't have much of an aroma if anything it's like baked beans. It's just not doing much for me apart from the spiffy looking packaging and celebrity endorsement from Oprah. It's still not as satisfying as my grocery store tea bags. A bit astringent, makes my tongue pucker.There was nothing in the samples that blew my mind or even was rich enough to entice me to re-purchase.It's a one time purchase.2Would buy againWe got this sampler to try new teas as we were exploring the world of loose-leaf tea. The teas come individually packaged in small zip-lock packages, all put into another zip-lock package. The teas were all in good condition and did not seem stale or old. While we didn't enjoy all the varieties (isn't that the point of a sampler, to try things?) it was a quality product and we can easily recommend them.5Fab tea, sample size helpfulThe amount in each package of the sampler is enough for 5-7 cups of tea. Plenty to really figure out if you like it. I am an open tea addict and drink many cups per day. I m also a particular person, I know what I like, and generally (to my husband s misfortune) it s in good taste. I ve found nothing about any of these 10 teas that would turn me away from ordering again. Kind of impressive. If you like tea, and are curious about the taste differences in specific types of black tea, this sampler is for you.5My black teas smelled of spice, but customer service took great care of me.I've bought two tea samplers from Vadham. The first one, the Darjeeling Sampler was quite nice. Unfortunately, with the black tea/Assam sampler, one tea, the rose tea, was spiced with cardamom and made the other teas in the package smell and taste of cardamom, despite them being individually sealed. The nuances of the teas were lost. I don't know if this is because one of the teas included in the sampler was spiced or if it's a problem at the location where the Teas are packaged. I would be hesitant to buy a sampler that included a spiced tea like this one did . The darjeeling sampler that I had purchased in the past also had a chai in it, and it did not affect the other teas in the sampler bag, so it's hard to tell what happened.Update-Within a few days of this review, I received a kind email from Vadham and they offered to send me a replacement tea, which is on the way, so this rating was updated to reflect their commitment to customer service.5Excellent sampler pack.Very nice sampler pack. Each type of tea is individually packaged in a very nice resealable pouch, plainly labeled (just as you see on the larger pouches); each pouch contains enough tea for at least 3 or 4 cups, plenty enough to adequately sample each 'flavor'/type. This is my first time to try "real" tea, and it is indeed excellent. I recommend brewing the tea as instructed (about 1 teaspoon per cup; steeped in almost boiling water for 3-5 minutes)...it is definitely different from the usual name brand tea bags you buy at WalMart. I've only tried 4 of the 10 samples, but each was very good; wonderful aroma & flavor. I will definitely buy Vahdam teas again! If you like loose leaf tea or are just wanting to try it for the first time, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this purchase. UPDATE: Having tried all 10 of the samples, every one is excellent; but of course, each person's taste will decide which you like the least or best. The smoky Assam is so different, very smoky aroma and flavor; not for everyone obviously, but it is indeed 'different'. Same for the Blooming Rose - great flavor, really was a surprise as I didn't think I would care for it. So fare the Assam varieties are my favorite, probably closer in strength to our good old 'southern' tea that I'm used to - as opposed to the breakfast tea varieties that seem weaker, but are flavorful none the less.5Weak, Bland but nicely packagedI do not typically drink the super pungent, bursting with flavor, boutique teas that are becoming so popular. I like them, but I don't generally drink them. My go-to tea for several years has been London Cuppa. An all around tea with ample flavor and moderate bitterness. So I thought maybe I'll splurge and buy some high quality tea this time around. This sampler seemed a good sampler for black teas and the price was reasonable.This tea does not taste bad but it is extremely weak. I generally use one tea bag or 1 tsp. if its loose, of the London Cuppa. The Vahdam tea says to use 1 tsp.. I did and the flavor was untraceable. Next I tried 2 tsp and it was just really weak.I've tried each variety in the sampler at this point and all of them were weak.So at this point I feel I've wasted my money. I will go ahead and use the tea... using 3tsp. in boiling water per cup just to get the flavor. I will turn 60 cups of tea into about 20 by using so much. Otherwise I'd just pitch the whole lot in the trash which would be a shame.My conclusion... I'll stick with London Cuppa. If you haven't tried it and are looking for a full bodied cup of black tea that sweetens and takes cream or milk well, try London Cuppa.2
